Russia and United States stay in touch over New START nuclear deal

Russian Deputy Overseas Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Friday stated Russia and the US remained in touch over the New START nuclear arms treaty regardless of Moscow having suspended its participation within the deal, the RIA Novosti information company reported.

Ryabkov stated he had no expectations for vital progress from contact between Moscow and Washington.

The 2010 settlement limits the variety of strategic nuclear warheads all sides can deploy.
